Gallstones are small stones in the gallbladder formed because the substances in the bile are out of balance. This is very common to happen. The gallstones can cause the gallbladder to swell and stop the flow of bile. Some of the symptoms are vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion and fever. How do we performed at Family Hospital?

The two procedures to remove the gallbladder are the open surgery and the most common procedure the laparoscopic surgery. In the laparoscopic surgery the surgeon makes two small incisions where the laparoscope instruments goes into and removes the gallbladder. The surgeon closes the two small incisions with stitches. The surgery requires general anesthesia for the patient.
